If you're trying to access your Awesomate n8n workspace from an office or corporate network and the page won't load, the most likely cause is a firewall or web content filter blocking the connection. This article walks you through how to identify the issue and what to ask your IT team to do to resolve it.

How to Tell If a Firewall Is Blocking Your Workspace

When your workspace is blocked by a corporate firewall or web filter, you'll typically see one of the following:

  • A block page from your IT department or security vendor (for example, Cisco Umbrella, Zscaler, Fortinet, Sophos, Barracuda, or a generic "Access Denied" page).
  • The page URL in your browser changes to a filter or proxy domain rather than your normal workspace URL.
  • The workspace loads on your mobile data or home network, but not on the office Wi-Fi or VPN.
  • A browser error such as "This site can't be reached", "Connection timed out", or "Your organisation has blocked this page".

If any of the above sounds familiar, the issue is almost certainly on your network — not with Awesomate or your workspace itself.

What to Ask Your IT or Security Team

The quickest fix is to ask your IT infrastructure and security team to whitelist the Awesomate domain on your corporate firewall and web content filter.

Details to Provide to Your IT Admin

Send your IT team the following information so they can add an allow rule:

  • Domain to whitelist: *.awesomate.io (the wildcard ensures your specific workspace subdomain and any related services are all covered)
  • Protocol: HTTPS
  • Port: 443
  • Traffic type: Standard outbound web traffic (no special configuration required)

Sample Message You Can Send to IT

Feel free to copy and adapt the following request:

Hi team, I use a business tool hosted at *.awesomate.io for my day-to-day work, and it's currently being blocked by our firewall / web filter. Could you please whitelist the domain *.awesomate.io over HTTPS on port 443? Thanks!

If Your IT Team Needs a Server IP Address

Most modern firewalls and web filters support domain-based allow rules, so whitelisting *.awesomate.io is the preferred approach. However, some stricter network environments require an IP address instead of (or in addition to) a domain.

If your IT team specifically requests a server IP address for your workspace, contact the Awesomate support team and we'll provide the current IP for your workspace. Please include the following in your request:

  • Your workspace URL (for example, yourcompany.awesomate.io)
  • The name of your IT contact or ticket reference, if relevant
  • A brief note confirming that your IT team needs an IP-based allow rule

Note: Server IPs can change over time as infrastructure is scaled or updated, so domain-based whitelisting using *.awesomate.io is always more reliable in the long term.

Still Having Trouble?

If your IT team has whitelisted the domain and you're still seeing issues, try the following:

  1. Clear your browser cache or try an incognito / private window.
  2. Disconnect from any VPN and try again.
  3. Confirm with IT that the rule has been applied to your specific user group or device.
  4. Test access from a different network (for example, your mobile hotspot) to confirm the issue is network-related.

If the problem persists, reach out to the Awesomate support team with a screenshot of the block page or error message and we'll help you troubleshoot further.
